Fri, 15 Dec 2006 Topic: Steam Outage
Error: "Steam Is Currently Having Trouble Connecting to the Steam Servers"
There is currently a wide spread power outage in Bellevue/Seattle impacting Steam Server availability. Over 1 million residents in the
Seattle area are without power due to a wind storm where winds have reached up to 69mph. Unfortunately ETA for when the
power will be restored is unknown as the power company will only work on restoring it once the storm has eased and the high winds have
died down.
Any issues you are experiencing with connecting to Steam are only temporary, as this isn't an end-user issue.

Update 15 December 2006 08:50 PM PST:
G'Day all,
Updated news from Valve.
Steam Servers are currently in the process of being located to a different facility.
Approximately half of all accounts should now be functioning normally at this time. The remaining accounts will soon follow.
Valve are working as quickly and as they can on this issue - there are obviously issues of resources/priority as basics such as
essential services are taking priority in such a circumstance - as one would hope.
More news as it comes to hand.
