Start Your Own CoD Server with XFire

If you want to host your own Call of Duty multiplayer game, you can either set up a dedicated game server or do it the easy way: using XFire to help you. XFire is an online gaming aid tool that enables you to communicate with other gamers from all around the world and start your own multiplayer games. Since this tool also supports Call of Duty, you can easily host a multiplayer game using XFire to help you.

The first thing you need to do is install XFire and create a user ID. Once you have the software installed, you can create a new multiplayer game. If you want the server to be a dedicated server, simply select Internet in the options.

A console box will appear once you have created a new game server for Call of Duty. Minimize the console for now. You need to start Call of Duty and find the server you just created under LAN. Click on the the “Server Info” link and write down the IP address and port number displayed. You can now exit Call of Duty and return to the XFire window.

Simply find the game you created on the XFire window, enter the IP address and port number, and list it as favorite. If you check the game using Call of Duty, you will see that XFire is now broadcasting the server info and other players can join your game.
